SUMMARY:Workers Over Billionaires: Copper Country Labor Day Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join us this Labor Day to celebrate the power of working people! We’ll gather at the Houghton Waterfront Pier with music\, speakers\, and community—standing together for dignity\, fairness\, and justice.\nThis year is about more than a barbecue. Billionaires are hijacking our government and hoarding wealth while cutting from working families. We’re rising up with communities across the country to say enough: \nWe demand a country that puts workers over billionaires. \nOur fight is for: \n*Stopping the billionaire takeover of our democracy \n*Honoring and strengthening labor organizing \n*Protecting Medicaid\, Social Security\, and programs for working people \n*Fully funded schools\, healthcare\, and housing for all \n*Defending immigrants\, Black\, Indigenous\, trans\, and all communities under attack \nLet’s keep building a movement that’s bigger\, stronger\, and rooted in solidarity. See you at the pier—together we win! \nPlease note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Weapons of any kind\, including those legally permitted\, should not be brought to events.
