Visit www.moosewood.org to become a member. \nThis members-only Art at MooseWood program provides materials and directions to make holiday ornaments for your tree\, as well as free-standing decorative luminaries. In the first week\, participants construct and texturize their creations from slabbed clay. During the second week\, the kiln-fired ceramic pieces are returned to be glazed to add color before being fired again. Finished items can be picked up at the Center at your convenience.

This event is open to all ages. \nAbout the speaker: Sara Giles is a recently retired Park Ranger with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Her 27-year federal career spanned two countries\, five states\, and three National Wildlife Refuges\, as well as service in the Peace Corps. Throughout her career\, she led public programs\, advanced habitat restoration efforts\, and most recently helped design the new visitor center at Seney National Wildlife Refuge\, which is currently under development. Since retiring in May 2025\, Sara has continued to share her passion for art\, nature\, and science through community involvement\, serving on her local school board\, and volunteering in the schools. She lives in Gulliver and enjoys exploring the outdoors\, raising her two children\, traveling\, and spending time with her husband and their dogs.
