Future Historians Program: “U.P. Bats in the Mines: Michigan Bats,” by John Depue, DNR

Did you know that abandoned mine sites offer ideal bat habitat? The U.P. is home to a large bat population and during this meeting DNR Wildlife Biologist John Depue will discusses the different species of bats found in Upper Michigan, the critical role abandoned mines play as their unique habitats, the threat of White Nose Syndrome poses to their survival, and what the DNR is doing to conserved bats and how the public can help.
The Future Historian Program is open to all students ages 10 and up. Presentations will be held monthly September through April (except December), and special living history day camps during the summer. Free admission
