On the flip side, a more intimate bar awaits, ideal for smaller groups and hearty conversations. A unique upstairs-downstairs setup showcases ceiling-hung ceramic mugs, a testament to the loyalty and tradition of Blackrocks’ first supporters. It’s an envy-inducing sight every time, making you wish you were part of that exclusive mug club! 🌟 Feature of the Week: The Honorable Distillery! 🌟
📍1106 N 3rd St, Marquette, MI

This week, we’re thrilled to spotlight a gem in Marquette, perfectly perched right on Washington St., the city’s bustling hub, 🏙️ its smack dab in the middle of the towns action! Right next to it is the old Masonic Square Mall, where a bunch of unique artisan shops are housed that you also MUST check out if you’re there! (oh and the mall has some interesting old mason symbols on the columns that are worth lookin at! 👀) And even better, The Honorable Distillery is tantalizingly close to the waterfront and the storied Ore Dock—ideal for a leisurely post-drink stroll. 🚶‍♂️ We ALWAYS take a stroll around town after having a few here!

The distillery is ingeniously housed in the former Nordic theatre, retaining its iconic marquee that once listed showtimes. 🎭 Now, it proudly displays both the vintage Nordic insignia and the bold new Honorable Distillery signage. The inside is an open concept, with a large elegant bar on the side with hightops and tables populating the center. Toward the back you can view the beautiful massive stills they have set up where the stage/screen area used to be. They are a work of art themselves and are among the more unique set ups we’ve come across 🥃✨!! (pic below).

As for the drinks? Nothing short of spectacular! 🍹 The bartenders are definitely considered mixologists in our book, and we’ve downed a few over the years! They have a ton of great options, from a Spring Manhattan, to a Rosemary Gin Paloma, to even a shot of Absinthe (!!) all their booze is made IN HOUSE. And it doesn’t stop there, even their JUICES and MIXES are made IN HOUSE, and you can definitely tell by the taste!! 🍊🌿 The bartenders confirmed they spend long hours just juicing fruits to bring you the taste that you cant replace. The dedication to their art is also seen on the front end, Each cocktail is meticulously balanced, ensuring the perfect blend of flavors with every shake and stir before it touches your lips 🍸 ! When you go, you MUST try out their Cosmo and Rosemary Gin Paloma, both super refreshing and well worth the trip!!

🍴 Pro Tip:
Cap off your visit with dinner at Casa Calabria nearby. Their Italian cuisine is top-notch with huge servings. We filled up on their soup special and garlic bread before our main course came because it was so good!! 🍝

(3525 Airport Rd, Escanaba, MI 49829)
This week, we’re kicking off our Escanaba reviews with a spotlight on the sensational Upper Hand Brewery, our top pick whenever we’re in town! 🌲🍻

Nestled at the back of a small airport on the southern edge of town, Upper Hand is a hidden gem. Watch out, or you might miss the turn—it’s that discreet! The brewery faces the serene woods, offering a tranquil Northwoods backyard ambiance perfect for unwinding. Plus, you’re in for a quiet treat, as the roar of planes is surprisingly absent, enhancing the peaceful setting. With the sun casting perfect afternoon rays, their patio is an idyllic spot for enjoying a pint. 🌞🐕 Pets and kids are more than welcome, and if you’re rolling deep, there’s plenty of space with numerous picnic tables scattered across a lush field.

Step inside, and you’re greeted by an array of impressive taxidermy from across the Upper Peninsula—a real treat for hunters and nature lovers alike. While indoor seating is cozy and limited, the outdoor experience on a warm summer day is unbeatable. They offer light snacks, though bringing some takeout to complement your brews comes highly recommended. Every beer served is brewed on-site, guaranteeing fresh, authentic flavors with every sip. Don’t forget to snag some unique memorabilia to remember your visit! 🍴🐻

For newcomers, we suggest starting with a flight to sample their innovative brews. The Raspberry Ale Nitro and Tongue and Groove Cherry are must-tries for those who enjoy a twist on the traditional. Not to be missed, the Upper Hand IPA and Oberon Ale are reliable favorites, delivering that crisp, refreshing finish that perfectly caps off any adventure. 🍒🍺

🌟Feature of the Week: Breezy Point! 🌟 (3896 M-35, Escanaba MI, 49829) 📍

Nestled right off the stunning M-35 as you approach the quaint town of Escanaba, Breezy Point is an easy gem to miss if you’re not careful—especially as the road swiftly curves around the corner. But trust me, it’s worth making the stop! 🌊 Since its opening in 1944, Breezy Point has been a beloved local haunt, constantly elevating its offerings through the decades. The presence of a consistent, sizeable local crowd is a testament to its top-notch quality and atmosphere. 🍻

Stepping inside, you’re greeted by a spacious setting featuring high-top tables and a bar where you can relax and enjoy the serene lake view. It’s an ideal spot for catching the games on several TVs or simply soaking up the breathtaking scenery. 📺🌅 For those who prefer a closer encounter with the water, the lower enclosed seating area offers a cozy spot for dining while embracing the lakeside vibes, making it a perfect choice regardless of the season. ☀️❄️

The real treat, however, extends beyond the interior. A vast backyard leads down to a private dock on the lake, where you can stroll with your beer in hand and truly enjoy that ‘Breezy Point’ essence. It’s an absolute must-visit in the summer months! 🚶‍♂️🍺

As for food, the highlight is undoubtedly their pizza. 🍕 Wood-fired to crispy perfection, we couldn’t resist taking an extra pizza home! The Veggie Lovers and Margherita pizzas are highly recommended—featuring a crispy crust made from fresh dough and toppings that are balanced just right, avoiding the common pitfall of too many toppings in specialty pizzas. Additionally, the Spinach and Artichoke Dip stands out as a crowd-pleaser, perfectly complemented by a few rounds of cold beer as we enjoyed the stunning pink hues of the sunset. 🌞🍻

Before we knew it, we were back on M-35, homeward bound, already planning our next visit. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Breezy Point offers a memorable experience that calls for multiple returns. 🛣️
